There is no argument that a true Latin sound must include a
fusion of vast influences as is true with the DJ quartet known as the
Rice & Beans Sound System.  Their love and passion for their Latin
culture is evident as they connect with their audience one groove
after another.

Their mission is simple: to keep the afro-Caribbean traditions and sounds alive for generations to come.  With a presence on dance floors from New York to Miami to Orlando and DC, the Rice & Beans Sound System’s style and selections have been appreciated all over.

While forming in 2007, founding member Christian Martir united with
Dean (Deejay Rod-Uno) Rodriguez through their affiliations with
cultural groups, to continue focusing on a musical Latin presence they
both believed in.

Since 2009, the team has served as ambassadors for
the Fania/Codigo music group by hosting events highlighting the
timeless sound known as FANIA! The two newest additions, BK Dusty
Fingers & Jon Santino round out and complete a rotation that has been
solidified through recent events that include: “The Cool Out” and
“A Tribute to FANIA con los Whiskey Barons” hosted by The Lazy
Afternoon.  While meeting old age fans they also welcome new faces
with an eagerness to share their understanding and enthusiasm for
Latin music.

Successes continue to come to light as demographics for
their events can span from a married couple in their 50’s to an 18
year old listening to an Eddie Palmieri tune for the first time.

While growing in major markets like Miami and
New York, the foursome plans on continuing their accomplishments by
joining forces with Fania more frequently serving as liaisons to the
public with a vast discography they are both excited to share.

So as a recommendation to anyone attending one of their events, move…Grab that rhythm and a dance partner and make sure to listen and feel every brass stab.  Be sure to also keep an eye out, as the Rice & Beans Sound System is coming to a dance floor near you!
